Not Everything is Alright in the World of Pokémon!

Hello gamers! There is some unfortunate news floating about the web about the new Pokémon X and Y games. As some of you are familiar with, people like to hack games to make things ideal for their game (ex: creating “perfect” Pokémon). Well, someone discovered how to hack into the 3DS and the new Pokémon games as well. The results are both interesting and devastating.

A feature offered to Pokémon trainers  back on the Nintendo DS titles Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, the Global Trading System is a world wide way that players can connect and share Pokémon with one another. It used the online capabilities of the DS and its predecessors to put the data from your game up for trade with other peoples.

However, with the recent rising of hacking in the new Pokémon titles, there have been illegitimate creatures being created and distributed along the network. You may be thinking “So What? It’s not like it will do anything if I get a hacked Pokémon.” You would be wrong.

The hacked creatures bring with them a game-breaking glitch that is irreversible. According to Bulbapedia, a popular website with news, tips and information on Pokémon, in an article on KPopstarz, “Due to people trying to Wonder Trade off hacked Pokemon they will appear as ‘Bad Eggs.’ They cannot be traded or released, and they will multiply until it fills all of your boxes.” Bulbapedia continued, saying, “This will also delete any of your Pokemon that are stored in your boxes as it will replace them with bad eggs. Trade at your own risk!”

This devastating discovery has made the idea of trading via Wonder Trade a very unsettling idea to me. I certainly don’t want to trust it until Nintendo and the Pokémon Company figure out how to fix it. However, amid the hacking and ruining of peoples games. A ROM hacker has discovered a few interesting things within the data of the Pokémon games.

These are three possible legendaries that could have become DLC characters or just unreleased Pokémon (image provided by: http://www.kotaku.com.au/2013/11/three-new-mysterious-pokmon-discovered-in-x-y/)

Diancie, Volcanion and Hoopa are the discovered Pokémon hidden within the data files of X and Y. Diancie is reported to be Rock/Fairy type, Volcanion is Fire/Water type and Hoopa to be Ghost/Psychic. These Pokémon if they are real will be two never before seen dual-types (Carbink takes the Rock/Fairy dual-type first).

Another discovery was the possible addition of giving Latios and Latias, two legendaries from Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, Mega-Evolutions.

So what do you think trainers? Will you trust the Wonder Trade feature to complete your Kalos Pokedex? Do you think these “discovered” Pocket Monsters are real? Tell WrmH0l3 what you think in the comments or on Twitter or Facebook! Until next time gamers!

Stay Calm and Watch for Bad Eggs!
